Deal with Any Invasive Weeds
Dig up any invasive weeds that you have and burn them in a pile. A lot of invasive weeds are able to stay viable in a compost heap or even in a weed pile. For this reason, you need to make sure that you don’t shift them to another part of your garden. This is the only way for you to make sure that they don’t disrupt next year’s crop and it is also the only way for you to protect your plants.
Prepare your Soil
A lot of people do this in the spring, but winter is a fantastic time for you to get everything ready. Dig in manure, bone meal, rock phosphate and even compost. When you do this, you can then start breaking everything down for when your plants are ready to grow again and it also enriches it beyond anything like you’ve ever seen before. When you’ve done everything like this, you then need to cover the bed with some sheet plastic as this will help to stop weeds and it will also stop the soil from getting waterlogged too.
Mow your Lawn
Your lawn is probably in need of a little TLC. For this reason, you need to put the work in to try and mow it so it’s as short as possible.
