Can Keeping Fit Keep You Happy?

walking on a treadmill in treatersExercising and keeping fit has many health benefits – we all know that – but can it keep you happy?

There’s plenty of arguments for people keeping fit keeping them happy so I thought I’d investigate and look into the topic.

What do you think, can keeping fit keep you happy?

Exercise Increases Stuff

I am pretty sure we all already know this but when we exercise, our endorphins increase as do plenty of other brain chemicals which help us to feel happy.

These include dopamine and adrenaline can enable us to feel less stress and less anxiety.

It has been shown in studies that exercise often has been beneficial to those with depression but this, of course, may not be the same for everyone.

Taking that first step may be daunting especially if we aren’t happy with the way we look but as we exercise, our confidence gets boosted along the way.

This can be for a variety of reasons. Becoming happier with the way we look. Becoming happier with the way we feel or perhaps even bonding with new people through a shared interest.

That sense of accomplishment you feel when you finish a workout or a team game cannot be beaten and often feels like you are a part of something you weren’t a part of before.

Increased confidence will always help people to feel happier.

It Can Impact Your Day To Day Life

Is your day to day life stressful? Are you worried about keeping up with your kids or that niggle you’ve been feeling in your body?

By exercising, you have the opportunity to increase your strength and even improve your heart health which can then filter into your everyday life.

Your Body Will Feel Better

Your body will certainly thank you if you can exercise. Just by taking the time to workout everyday, even for a short amount of time. It will improve your health and in turn make your body feel better. But don’t forget to think about changing the food you eat to boost your energy too.

If you’ve been feeling sluggish or fatigued, a fitness routine can turn that around and you will find that as your body begins to heal, you feel healthier and happier mentally too.
