Uncovering My Interior Style

Jaime Oliver 250 x 250A couple of weeks back I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Hillarys about my home interior, my loves and what makes my home tick and It got me thinking…..

Is my style a set thing or is it elements of lots of other styles combined that makes my style?

I think if I am honest I am no interior designer, nor am I an interior guru. Although It would be nice to be both of those things it really is about discovering who I am and what I like without restriction.

I have spent lots of my life pigeon holing myself not only with my interiors but also other parts of my life and this last year has been a real eye opener, just discovering me!

Over the coming months I have lots and lots of plans to do with our house, not least a bedroom titivation, reorganising my teens room, Kitchen storage and a total redecoration of the Hall, Stairs and Landing .. However the plans are on hold till the new doors and windows that have been long dreamed of are fitted!

However I may not be the stylish bird on the block but I love key pieces and comfort, my house is lived in and loved .. and that’s all good with me …

GardenNow all I need to find is more hours in the day to get the paint roller out! it’s just like the rest of my life at the moment, too busy!

Fingers crossed the revamp is underway by the Summer Holidays or I may just cry!

If you missed the interview with Hillarys last week you can find it over HERE along with more pictures of the random items that make up my home!

I love a good revamp! I find it quite therapeutic! So enjoy and I look forward to seeing the end result. Although finding the time to actually execute said plans can always be a challenge! Good luck! xx

I don’t think being ‘stylish’ around the house is so important – if your house is filled with love and things which mean so much to you – then it will be perfect! x

We are working our way round our house too. I like my key pieces as well as they set off a whole room.

We all have things we are good at or not so good at! I am in no way fashionable or stylish ha ha…but I seem to be good at writing. We are slowly improving our home too but it would be fab to have a creative flair..I just don’t seem to have it. Angela x

Revamping sounds really exciting. I have no vision for it but would love a designer to just do it all for me, that would be the dream 🙂

Hope it all gets underway soon.

Our whole house needs doing. It was never really finished when the OH had it built, the kitchen is shoddy, there’s no finishing in the shower room or cloakroom, and everywhere’s magnolia except the extremely faded living room. I like the idea of having a nice looking house, but the work puts me off. And the decisions because the OH would never discuss it, and I’d never dare just do it. Plus I’d rather get someone in to do the whole lot, and he’d rather we (read, I probably!) do it. The one thing that puts me off is trying to tidy up and clean everything before we can do anything. I’ve decluttered recently, but it’s not made a dent in it. I think I need to do a ‘take everything outside, and basically work through each room in turn. I’d need a week off to do it, and having just emptied my mum’s house with the help of my brother, I’m not sure I’d want to do it alone in ours.

Oh, exciting! I love any kind of interiors stuff, even just thinking about it, but I have so little time it doesn’t get done 🙂 Although, my husband is painting the living room as I speak… We just have so much to do that it’s a bit overwhelming at the moment!
