The BenQ WiT LED Desk Lamp – A Review

Over recent years I have had my eyes opened with household items as I used to be a someone that often went for a cheap product that looked aesthetically pleasing.

I am the first to admit this method of purchasing items has left me more out of pocket in the long run and made me spend more of my time replacing badly purchased items.

After my office facelift a few months I had held off purchasing a desk lamp as I just couldn’t find one that would help my poor eyes and look super cool.

However a few weeks back I was asked if I would consider trying out the new BenQ WiT LED desk lamp that is designed for use with screens from tablets and e-readers to full on computer monitors with tis 3 key benefits.

– Wide: 150% wider luminance area than normal desk lamp
– Intelligent mode: auto detect environmental brightness and come out proper light to reduce reflection and contrast glare while reading on the monitor.
– Tailor-made: adjustable light colour you can change from warm white to cool white (2700~5700K)

When it arrived I was thrilled, it is even more striking in real life than it is on the internet as it has a really iridescent look about it when you catch it in the right light. The lamp comes in 5 colours, pink, blue, green, gold and silver and all look eye-catching from the internet but honestly I am so pleased with the green that we were sent.

The lamp comes in several pieces and it slots together easily without the instructions in mere minutes. It has a heavy weight base and its multi lever arm is super to extend and manoeuvre so it’s in exactly the right place to make it adaptable to a range of different sized monitors and screens.

The arch of the lamp itself gives a wider arc of light and it has the adjustable warm/cool light dial on the top so you can adjust the light to suit your needs. The ring on the side has a lovely feature as it activates the e-Reading mode with just one touch. It has an in-built ambient light sensor that detects the light of the environment and WiT delivers the patented ‘brighter at the sides, darker in the middle illumination to reduce the contrast glare and the reflection on the screen.

I absolutely love this lamp although I have been using it in my living room with my laptop as opposed to my desk as I have a shelf fairly low to the monitor so to put it in its prime location I need to lift the shelf to make the most of it.

Although I would have never of dreamt of calling a lamp beautiful before I can honestly say this one certainly is and its great knowing I am not squinting at my screen anymore.

The BenQ WiT LED Desk Lamp currently retails at around £179.99 and comes in 5 colours. More information can be found on their website HERE.
