Review: Loyd Grossman Mint Masala Chicken Curry

loyd grossman sauceOver recent months its fair to say that we have been trying to cook from scratch, however this is not always possible with a family and commitments, after school clubs and life in general, so we have come to terms with the fact that sometimes convenience is good and we have looked more at which convenience foods are not only tasty but also which ones we can still add fresh ingredients too.

Do when we were asked to try out this limited edition Loyd Grossman Mint Masala chicken Curry I was rather excited, we are kind of stuck in our ways with currys at the moments and the fact this is claimed to light and fresh is always going to be a selling point for me. I am not a ‘hot’ curry lover .. I love nothing more than a super tasty curry with all my taste buds in tact!

I have to say Ollie (hubs) was not looking forward to it, unfortunately he is more set in his ways than I am and so when he heard the word ‘mint’ he shut down listening (he hates mint sauce so to him all mint is awful) …. that was until he smelt it this Mint Masala cooking … he was practically the first with his spoon in for a taste and with the teen hot on his heels I was worried there would be a battle!

What I really  loved about this, although I am not sure if this is a Loyd Grossman thing or not since we haven’t tried any of his others sauces is that it’s in jars for 2 … meaning for use we can use 2 jars and have 2 flavours going on at once if we wanted to! .. I loved the smell and I am totally loving the sauce. It seems I was not alone with 4 very clean plates I can say it was a resounding success in our house and Ollie has officially declared that this is by far the best curry he has ever had and he only ever would eat really blow your head off hot currys .. so taste won through on this one!

I try making my own curries from scratch but keep going back to the jars, far tastier, and easier
