Heston Blumenthal 5-in-1 Digital Thermometer & Dual Timer (Giveaway Now Closed)

Heston BlumenthalRecently on my journey of discovery of Kitchen essentials and luxury gadgets I was really excited to try out Salter’s Heston Blumenthal 5-in-1 Digital Thermometer and Duel Digital Timer.

Dual Digital Timer
I totally loved the idea of this as It has been known that I am utterly rubbish at remembering when I have popped something in the oven and with being really grateful to have a range cooker .. Having things in both ovens has led to disastrous dinnertime when I have completely forgotten!

The Heston Blumenthal Dual Digital Timer comes with a unique Heston turn reminder to help with even cooking, it has the option of being magnetic and freestanding and not only does it count up, it can count down too! .. oh and it has a 2 year guarantee too! But for me it was so easy to use it’s a certain keeper in this house!

heston thermometer  5-in-1 Digital Thermometer
The Heston Blumenthal 5-in-1 Thermometer is my all time fave item right now!

I often stress when cooking that its been cooked long enough or hot enough and this machine eliminates all that worry.

It comes with a in intelligent roasting feature already built-in and with dual sensors it allows for both the food and the oven temperatures to be measured!

With some preprogrammed recommended temperatures inbuilt and a really long probe to ensure you can pretty much measure any temperature for any food its makes for a really versatile product.

Competition
So not only have I enjoyed putting these to the test, I have one lucky reader who will be selected randomly in the rafflecopter widget below to win one of these items!

Please note: Entrants must have a valid UK address and full Terms and Conditions can be found on the Rafflecopter widget

When I first met my husband I invited him for a meal but I fell asleep and burnt it. I was so upset I cried. However he took me out for a nice meal instead.

I put a chicken curry in the slow cooker one morning, went to work and they asked me to stay late, which I did (forgetting the slow cooker), then went out to a pub after work. When I got home the house smelt fab but the curry was burnt. It had only just burnt on the edges but the burnt taste was throughout so it had to go in the bin.

I was boiling eggs for the following days lunch boxes and forgot all about them until I heard loud banging noises from the kitchen. Exploded eggs make such a mess – had to deep clean from floor to ceiling (and the smell…..)

Trying to impress so I cooked a lovely meal everything was going to plan I just had dessert to do. We were having baked Alaska which I’ve made umpteen times before …it was a disaster , the meringue slid off and stuck to the bottom of the oven followed by melting ice cream

I overcooked some cookies with marshmallows and peanut butter. They spread and a toffee like substance oozed out. Once cool they were very strange looking and very crispy, but tasted just like crunchy nut cornflakes.

As I mentioned on your Facebook wall, the Hoff gave me Listeriosis.

That may not be entirely true but I undercooked chicken years ago and the food poisoning it gave me led to me spending a sleepless night with a bowl, the loo, the sweats and only a Baywatch Nights marathon on the TV for company.

When I was in secondary school, I undercooked some jam tarts in cookery class. Only my Dad and I ate them and we were both sick all night and the next day. I had to take the day off school! The next week it was sausage rolls, and I poisoned us again!
