Over the last few years I have had a secret yearning for a slow cooker.
I have seen post after post on social media of deliciously looking slow cooker meals. I love the concept of being organised and this summer I have worked hard to organise the house and clear away the clutter so I could start September being organised.
Trying to be organised for meal times too I have decided to try out a slow cooker myself.
In the past Ollie has refused to consider slow cooker meals having had some bad memories of a childhood meal prepared in a slow cooker. I have decided that enough is enough and I have promised I won’t cook this dreaded childhood meal and instead will find slow cooker versions of our family favourites instead.

I have gone slightly over the top with the slow cooker that I have bought as it’s an 8 litre version – which is massive! But I have to say I am thrilled with it as it will tick my batch cooking and freezing ways too!
This weekend I am going to spend some time checking out some slow cooker meals to start our journey with and look to adapt some of our family favourites but add them into the slow cooker instead of cooking last-minute on the hob.
I am really hoping this will free up the dreaded ‘whats for tea’ period of the day and I can prep the tea time meal in the morning and throw it in the slow cooker to take the pressure off and bring back some family harmony at meal times.

It might sound rather boring but I am immensely excited to get going!
If you use a slow cooker please do feel free to let me know where I can find your favourite recipes!
