Apple crumble is one of my all time favourite childhood puddings and although I have never made anything with apples previously I felt like an hour in the kitchen which is normally an unknown for me so I jumped at the chance!
I have had some frozen apples in the freezer for such a long time but wasn’t sure what I was going to do with them so this really was going to be a total challenge on the recipe front!
Now for me there is nothing better than a super-duper crunchy topping and so having a cupboard full of cereals I decided on a whim to add in some Muesli to the topping mix and crossed my fingers for the best!
I have to say this recipe was really easy to make and only took a few minutes (although let the apples start to thaw first)
It really is a super winter warmer, it’s going to be on our menu on many occasions to come and not only was the muesli a really fantastic whim as the topping was super crunchy but I have no doubt you could even add in different fruits instead of apple too … also what I love is that if the mood takes you then you could add more or less fruit depending upon preference.
My time in the kitchen is not always a success but this is certainly right up there with the hits!
