Create A Cosier Living Room In Just One Day: Here’s How

Feet warming at a fireplace with hands holding coffeeIf you want to create a cosy living room, you don’t have to spend weeks working on it and spend a fortune while you’re at it.

There are some very simple changes you can make to your living room that will help you to give it a cosier feel in just one day!

Have a look at the ideas below and you’ll see that creating a cosier living space is easier than you think:

Bring In A Ton Of Plants And Flowers

Bring in as many plants and flowers as you can to make your living room cosier. They bring in color and texture, and studies have shown that they even have psychological effects that make us feel happier when we look at them! What more could you want?

Using large plants can help to bring in lots of beautiful texture. But mixing up both small and large plants is a great idea too. Just make sure you have the time to maintain them all. If not you might want to look into getting realistic looking fake plants.

Although you’re adding texture with the plants, if you want to add even more texture to give your living room a cosy vibe, you need to think outside of the box.

For example, using throws on your sofas and chairs is a great idea and makes a huge difference. As does layering up lots of cushions. You can also take a look at wholesale rugs to bring some more warmth and texture to the room. Long curtains will also make the room feel cosier. As well as help to keep the warmth in when you need it.

There are all kinds of ways you can layer and add texture, so use your imagination!

If you love books, then you absolutely have to create a cosy reading area in your living room. Ideally, this will be in a comfortable chair by a large window, so you have the perfect spot to settle down with a good book. Alternatively, display some pretty books on a bookshelf or coffee table and it’ll make your room look cosier.

Make It Smell Incredible

When creating a cosier feel in a room, it helps if you attempt to ensnare all of the senses, rather than just focusing on the way the room looks and feels. Focus on the way it smells, too! Making the room smell incredible can be as easy as lighting a good candle, using aromatherapy and diffusers, or even using a room spray. When the room smells good, you’ll feel good relaxing in there.

Add Softer Lighting

Finally, make sure you’re not letting fluorescent light bulbs ruin your living room. Adding softer lighting can be a marvelous way to make the whole room look more flattering. You’ll always feel more relaxed in a room with soft lighting!

How will you start creating your cosy living room? Let us know in the comments!
