Cool & Muted Living Rooms

Source

For me the whole of my pregnancy last year saw me tackle the decorating from top to bottom of our house.

Nearly a year after a I first started there are still rooms that we titivated but never finished in my mind’s eye, the living room being one of them.

I have the colour currently raring to go on the walls but there was always an issue with getting the final living room items and the biggest of those is the sofa.

I have always wanted a corner sofa and loved this Phoenix corner sofa (pictured above) but with the layout of my living room however my dream corner sofa is never going to be an option, thankfully this sofa comes in my needed 4 seater and chair.

Decor wise I would love to aim for something cool and muted with a natural and earthy feel to it, similar to the post I read at A Residence about a Sensatori Lounge and how even with the use of the stones and wood the twists of the contemporary really set it a part, this is something I would love to achieve in my living room, however creating a room with texture and warmth that still feels minimalist could be super tricky so I personally would go with less is more.

Our space has to be hardwearing and I would love solid oak flooring with muted greens in the accessories and my much-loved tartan which I have included in these curtains.

I am not known for accessories in that I am a minimalist in theory but still love nothing more than funky oversized items like the hashtag wall light and the oversized mental clock.

My obsession I recently admitted to (loving mirrors) would certainly work well in this room too as for me our main living space has to have really great light and with the help of some well positioned mirrors and the large window on the front and the patio doors I can’t really celebrate the light and airy feeling this colour scheme can help create.
