Ok Ok so more like bedroom blues in the sense I am finding our bedroom is just not wanting to play ball anymore!
When I moved into my house over 5 years ago I was on my own and the furniture I selected was going to be used just by me, Obviously this meant a fabulous storage system for me, however when Ollie (hubs) moved in it was quite clear that this set up was not going to provide long term service.
Although 5 years later the furniture is still looking immaculate we are now biting the bullet and are looking to upgrade and redo out bedroom.
The only thing at this stage I am happy to keep is the colour! we decorated just over a year ago with a Navy blue main wall and although at the time it was quite a drastic change being so dark, I have to say I have been more than happy with it and so think this will continue its reign on our feature wall but not sure if I will make it blue via paint or wallpaper…. that is still to be confirmed!
Over recent months I have been collecting ideas for the changes and although in the long run I am loving the overall theme for the room I am super excited to be getting more storage.
Although Ollie (hubs) is not interested in makeovers, colours or even furniture per say, he has verbalised that he would like a new bed as the one I bought 5 years ago was one I chose and he has never really liked it … there is nothing wrong with girly is there?
Top of the list currently for a bed replacement is this Cotswold Double bed from Oak Furniture King. With its straight lines and chunky oak frame I think this one would tick the boxes for both of us.
So thats the plan of attack all sorted .. now I have to muster up the courage to make a start!

Blue is one of my favourite colours and I’d love a blue bedroom. Some great ideas here.
I’m about to do a bedroom makeover (I was lucky enough to have a stylist cast her eyes over it yesterday!) and I’m getting rid of a Malm chest of drwaers – If you lived closer we could have helped each other out! 🙂
Love the bed. our paint etc is really neutral which means that a bedspread and curtains can make all the difference
With all your ideas you are going to have a beautiful bedroom. Blue is a lovely colour .
My bedroom has never been decorated in 11 years. I have to rip the carpet out soon it’s horrid.
Loving that bed!
That bed looks very similar to ours – we splashed out on a new one last year and have slept so much better since!
I love blues in a bedroom – so relaxing and peaceful. I would LOVE to re-do my bedroom….hope yours goes well!
I love blue and in the bedroom there are so many fab accessories and bedlinens you will be spoilt for choice.
Do you want to keep is simply blues or are you thinking of adding an accent ? Copper or silver work very well. x
i am thinking maybe silver in there too … hubs won’t entertain copper at all! lol
