3 Bathroom Upgrades You’d Want to Splurge on

As the one room in the house where we’d like to feel as clean as possible, it’s no wonder that upgrading the bathroom tends to be rather costly. New basin, tiling, baths, shower, toilet – all of this costs money and often a lot more than we had in mind. Sometimes it’s totally worth it, though, especially when you’ve been saving up for it and know exactly what you want.

In case your bathroom is due for an upgrade but you don’t really know what you want quite yet, you’ll definitely find something below to get you excited.

It’s going to make the bathroom your favourite room in the house again, and the rest of the household will fight you for a chance to spend their afternoon there.

#1 Smart bathroom
While we’d all like a smart home that turns on the coffee machine for us in the morning, bakes the bread, and squeezes the orange juice, there is nothing like coming home from work to a fully tapped bath.

A smart bathroom can do this for you and way more. How about never having to clean that toilet again? Just let your brand new bathroom take care of it for you. It might as well heat the toilet seat as well while just like your car seat while its at it.

Technology is able to give you the kind of functional bathroom you’ve always been looking for. Soak up in the bath with a touchscreen mirror, built-in speakers, and USB-ports right in the bath. If you don’t have a bath, you can always go for one of those musical shower heads instead, though, and you’ll even be able to answer phone calls while you’re in the shower.

#2 Walk-in showers
Any proper bathroom upgrade should come with either a massive bath where you can get that spa-like feeling or simply a massive walk-in shower. Just check out the ones here for some proper shower inspiration. Give it a steam function as well since we’re already here to spend money, and you’ll never feel like visiting the spa again in your life.

A big trend this year is to create one of those ‘his’ and ‘her’ showers. It’s basically two showers next to each other but kept open, and with a walkway in the middle. That way, you can shower next to each other and will never have to fight about who should shower first again.

#3 Sunken baths
We’ve already covered showers so let’s look at how you can make your bathtub dream a reality. Everyone is buying baths this year; not just because they’re so comfortable to soak around in, but also because they’re quite stylish and gives your bathroom that extra luxurious feeling.

Now you can simply swap out your light fixtures with something elegant, introduce a bathroom plant or two, and you’ll have the fanciest bathroom on the block.
