Since moving into my home over 5 years ago its been and interesting slog of hard work and tears at times.
When I first moved in the house had been unloved for many years and so the interior decor not only had been well past anything more than ready for the skip and so with several months and a super limited budget I set about transforming the inside of my home.
Over the last 5 years there has been a little bit of titivating going on from room to room but its kind of felt like I was attempting to polish a turd.
I know this sounds awful …. But the outside of our home certainly did not give the same warm inviting feeling as our interior and in fact if you had been just passing it all these years you really would have been forgiven for thinking we just didn’t care.
The fact is we did care but with everything else and the amount of money needed to pay for the windows and doors it has been the very last thing on the list of must do’s.
We have been super lucky in terms of our house as although we don’t own it and in fact we rent it, my house belongs to my parents and they have been investing copious amounts into its tlc campaign over the years … we were super thankful that the final ‘big’ thing left on the house to do was the windows and doors and we were given the opportunity to sort this on behalf of my parents.
Sorting the windows was the easy part with no one really bothered about which openings were wanted but the heated discussions soon came when it came to the front door, Ollie wanted white and I wanted black.
Needless to say I won that battle and after Lee Glass came and installed the new windows and doors I can seriously say I chose well .. the black front door looks amazing and even Ollie is in agreement.
Finally out outside is on the road to looking as nice as the inside and with a bit of painting left to go I am so very proud of this cocoon this butterfly is now emerging from …
